David T. Dobson (B.B.A., M.B.A., CDP, CISA) attended the University of Minnesota and the University of North Florida where he earned his BBA (1980) and MBA (1984). Being the son of a country-hopping executive, World War II Naval Officer (UDT/SEAL) and Yale University graduate, David had the wonderful good fortune to grow up in both the USA and Europe. Being multi-linqual (French and German), David’s unique living and educational experiences have afforded him a global perspective from an early age. This has proven to be an advantage many times over the years, and especially when assisting Client Companies who have international presences and must deal with different cultural issues.
Beginning his career in IT technology in the early 1980’s as a Software Developer for a large insurance company, David worked by day as a Programmer Analyst, and attended graduate school at night at the University of North Florida. Upon receipt of his MBA, he was recruited by Price Waterhouse (now PWC) to work in their prestigious IT Consulting Practice. Due to the global nature of many of PW’s consulting engagements, David had the distinct opportunity to be exposed to numerous projects across the IT spectrum, as well as in the area of IT Audit. Projects ran the gammet across a number of industries and IT platforms, affording David a broad spectrum with respect to how IT should be blended with business in order to produce optimal results.
During his tenure with PW, David was once again afforded a wonderful, ground floor opportunity to join the ranks of a national recruiting firm specializing in Accounting, Banking and Information Technology. Joining the firm as the Manager responsible for starting and building the IT Consulting and Recruitment practice, David built an organization known and respected for its integrity, results-oriented and fair business practices. He became one of the top recruiters for this national company, receiving numerous awards for excellence and rising to General Manager for the Jacksonville, Florida Office before leaving to start his own firm, Dobson & Associates, Inc., in 1990.
